Common causes of ectopic pregnancy

Common causes of ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is also known as ectopic pregnancy, which means that the fertilized egg is placed somewhere outside the uterus. The main causes of ectopic pregnancy are as follows.

1. Surgery

Nowadays, many women choose to give birth by caesarean section, and the number of patients with ectopic pregnancies occurring in uterine scars is also increasing day by day; appendicitis perforation urgently requires surgical treatment, and appendectomy increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy by 1.8 times.

2. Improper contraceptive methods

Contraceptive pills affect the levels of estrogen and progesterone, which in turn affect the peristalsis of the fallopian tube wall, ciliary activity, and secretion of epithelial cells. If the hormones are out of balance, it will affect the transport of the fertilized egg and cause tubal pregnancy. Some women lack self-protection awareness and abuse contraceptive pills without long-term contraceptive measures, which can lead to ectopic pregnancy.

3. Genital tract inflammation

Common gynecological inflammation includes vaginitis

, cervicitis, etc., may all infect the fallopian tubes and cause fallopian tube inflammation. If not effectively treated, when the body's own defense mechanism is damaged, it can lead to inflammation of the tissues around the fallopian tubes and affect normal conception.

4. Repeated abortion

Repeated abortions can cause great damage to the uterus, making it no longer suitable for the implantation of the fertilized egg. Generally, the more abortions you have, the greater the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy.
