How to prevent pelvic inflammatory disease in daily life

Pelvic inflammatory disease is a gynecological inflammation that is extremely harmful to women's reproductive health. To avoid unnecessary harm, women can take preventive measures in the following aspects of their lives.

1. Eliminate all routes of infection

Keeping the perineum clean and dry can reduce the chance of bacterial infection. It is recommended that women wash the vulva with clean water every night, using a dedicated basin. Do not use your hands to wash the vagina, nor use hot water or soap to wash the vulva. Change your underwear frequently and do not wear tight or synthetic underwear.

2. Pay attention to personal hygiene

Women have vaginal bleeding during menstruation, after abortion, and after gynecological surgery such as IUD insertion and removal. During this period, they must refrain from sexual intercourse, swimming, bathing in a tub, or taking a sauna. At the same time, they must change sanitary napkins frequently, as the body's resistance is reduced during this period, making it easy for pathogens to enter and cause infection.

3. Actively cooperate with treatment

Patients with other gynecological diseases must actively cooperate with the hospital's treatment and pay attention to bed rest or a semi-recumbent position to facilitate localization of inflammation and discharge of secretions.

4. Good at observing leucorrhea

You should pay more attention to observe whether there is any abnormality in your vaginal discharge on a daily basis, and pay attention to the amount, quality, color and taste of your vaginal discharge. If the amount of vaginal discharge is large, the color is yellow and thick, and it has a foul odor, it means that there is an inflammation or infection; if the amount decreases and the taste tends to be normal, it means that there is no inflammation.
