What to do if you don’t have your period?

The absence of menstruation may be caused by physiological reasons, which generally does not require special treatment. It may be caused by pathological reasons, such as anemia, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc., and medication can be used.

1. Physiological reasons: If the woman is young and her ovarian function is not fully developed, she cannot secrete enough estrogen to promote the periodic shedding of the endometrium. Absence of menstruation is generally a normal physiological phenomenon and does not require special treatment. As the woman ages, her ovarian function develops and menstruation usually occurs. After pregnancy, the endometrium will undergo decidual changes and will not shed, so there will be no menstruation. This is also a physiological phenomenon and does not require special treatment.

2. Anemia: It may be caused by excessive red blood cell production, destruction, malnutrition, etc. Severe anemia generally leads to a lack of red blood cells and hemoglobin in the body, resulting in insufficient blood volume, and may also affect hormone secretion, leading to oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea. Donkey glue blood-replenishing granules, compound donkey-hide gelatin syrup, folic acid tablets and other drugs can be used under the guidance of a doctor.

3. Polycystic ovary syndrome: The cause is not yet fully understood, and may be related to genetic and environmental factors. The patient's androgen level is generally high, while the estrogen level is low, which cannot promote the shedding of the endometrium, so there will be no menstruation. Drugs such as estradiol valerate tablets, nialstradiol tablets, and diethylstilbestrol tablets can be used for treatment as recommended by the doctor.

In addition to the above reasons, it may also be caused by premature ovarian failure, which can also be improved by estrogen supplementation.
