Dietary care for patients with irregular menstruation

Dietary care for patients with irregular menstruation

Due to the increasing pressure of work and life, the number of women with irregular menstruation is gradually increasing, which seriously disrupts the normal life of patients and harms their physical and mental health. Patients can pay more attention to some dietary conditioning in their lives to help alleviate the symptoms of irregular menstruation.

1. Don’t drink carbonated beverages

Women with menstrual disorders should drink carbonated drinks, such as cola and Sprite, as often as possible. Otherwise, they will feel tired and lack energy during their menstrual period, because carbonated drinks contain phosphates, which react chemically with iron in the body, making it difficult to absorb iron and causing menstrual discomfort. In addition, drinking too much carbonated drinks will neutralize the sodium bicarbonate in the carbonated drinks with gastric juice, reducing the digestive ability and bactericidal effect of gastric acid, affecting the patient's normal diet.

2. Avoid drinking strong tea

Strong tea contains a large amount of caffeine, which has a great stimulating effect on the nerves and cardiovascular system. It can easily increase negative emotions such as anxiety and irritability during menstruation, increase the amount of menstrual blood, prolong the menstrual period, etc. In addition, the tannic acid contained in strong tea will affect the body's absorption of iron and aggravate the anemia symptoms of patients with irregular menstruation.

3. Eat more protein-rich foods

Patients with menstrual disorders have heavy bleeding during menstruation, which can cause hemoglobin loss. Therefore, patients can appropriately supplement foods containing high-quality protein to replenish the nutrients lost during menstruation in time. For example, eggs, lean meat, dairy products, and soy protein in soybeans are rich in high-quality protein.

4. Eat more high-fiber foods

High-fiber foods include fresh fruits, vegetables, oats, brown rice, etc., which can help improve the symptoms of irregular menstruation. In addition, foods rich in fiber can also promote the secretion of estrogen, increase the magnesium content in the blood, and help patients stabilize negative emotions.
