Adjunctive physical therapy for chronic adnexitis

Adjunctive physical therapy for chronic adnexitis

The treatment of chronic adnexitis is a long-term comprehensive treatment process. It cannot be treated with antibacterial therapy alone, but should also be assisted by physical therapy.

The mechanism of physical therapy is to promote pelvic blood circulation through benign warm stimulation, improve the nutritional status of local tissues, and facilitate the absorption and disappearance of adnexal inflammation. Commonly used physical therapies include laser therapy, microwave therapy, iontophoresis therapy, etc., among which ultrashort wave therapy has a better effect.

Ultrashort waves mainly use the high-frequency electric field energy generated by capacitive electrodes to achieve the purpose of treating adnexitis. During treatment, the patient's lesion area is first placed in the high-frequency electric field, where the molecules and ions in the body will vibrate violently at the equilibrium position and rub against each other to produce a thermal effect, causing the surface and deep tissues of the body to be heated more evenly, thereby playing a certain therapeutic role.

Physical therapy effect: It can effectively improve local edema symptoms, soften scars, promote intestinal peristalsis and blood circulation, and improve various local lesions.

It should be noted that when using physical therapy to treat adnexitis, the patient's body temperature should not exceed 37.5℃, and there should be no tuberculosis lesions in the genitals, otherwise it will greatly affect the treatment effect and even cause the adnexitis to worsen. In addition, during physical therapy, patients should also actively exercise and ensure a nutritious diet to enhance the body's immunity.
