What to do if you have cervical bartholinitis

What to do if you have cervical bartholinitis

The occurrence of Bartholin's glands will make patients very worried and directly and seriously affect the body. Therefore, we need to pay attention to the occurrence of this disease in our daily life, and pay attention to our own health and receive reasonable treatment in our daily life. So, what should we do if we have cervical Bartholin's glands?

1. Use antibiotics and Chinese medicine for external treatment

Inflammation of the Bartholin's glands is mostly caused by invasion of pathogens from the vulva. Antibiotic treatment has a certain effect, but it is often prone to recurrence. External treatment with traditional Chinese medicine has a satisfactory effect on repeated infections.

For those with obvious gland swelling in the acute stage but no pus, 8-10 million U of penicillin or 320,000 U of gentamicin can be intravenously dripped, and 30g of each of Sophora flavescens, Gentiana scabra, and Licorice root can be decocted, removed, and then used for sitting bath or fumigation. Phellodendron chinense and Gypsum truncatum can also be ground into very fine powder, mixed with sesame oil, and applied to the swollen vulva surface. In addition, when fumigating and washing the vulva, if possible, the vagina should also be flushed at the same time to keep the entire vulva and vagina clean and hygienic.

2. Chinese medicine treatment after abscess incision and drainage

Once an abscess is formed, it should be incised and drained as soon as possible and thoroughly. At this time, combined with Chinese medicine for internal and external treatment, the pus can be discharged faster and the inflammation can subside quickly. The method of clearing heat and detoxifying is usually used as the main method, supplemented by methods such as promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, softening and dispersing nodules, and draining pus.

Medication: Chinese smilax, shuanghua, lianqiao, jiaoshen, pangolin, red peony root, moutan bark, astragalus, etc. After incision and drainage, use scutellaria, phellodendron, and borneol to soak the medicine thread for drainage. Then use Jie'eryin wash or chlorhexidine wash to clean the vulva and vagina on time.

The Bartholin's glands are located at the back of the labia majora on both sides. The gland duct opens at the junction of the lower part of the inner side of the labia minora and the hymen. Due to the characteristics of the anatomical position, pathogens can easily invade and cause inflammation. During an acute inflammation attack, the pathogens first invade the gland duct, which presents acute suppurative inflammation. The gland duct opening is blocked by swelling or exudate, and pus cannot flow out and accumulates to form an abscess, which is called Bartholin's gland abscess.
