How to prevent artificial abortion syndrome

How to prevent artificial abortion syndrome

Induced abortion syndrome refers to a series of clinical manifestations such as bradycardia, arrhythmia, hypotension, pale complexion, nausea, vomiting, chest tightness, profuse sweating, etc. in some patients during the operation due to the rich sensory nerves in the cervix, the dilation of the cervix by instruments, and the stimulation of the uterine wall by the operation. Severe cases may even experience convulsions, syncope, shock and other symptoms.

Preoperative precautions

Before the operation, the patient should be comforted and explained to relieve the patient's nervousness and fear; preoperative auxiliary examinations should be completed, and the patient should be examined in detail to understand his or her heart function and whether he or she has other diseases that are not suitable for surgery. Pregnant women who can afford it can choose painless abortion, because painless abortion can eliminate the pain of the patient, which greatly reduces the incidence of artificial abortion syndrome.

Intraoperative precautions

For patients with common abortion, 2% lidocaine can be injected into the cervix and infiltrated with a cotton swab before the operation, which can inhibit the vagus nerve reflex and prevent the occurrence of artificial abortion syndrome. During the operation, the movements must be gentle and the negative pressure should be appropriate. Avoid violent traction of the cervix and repeated suction of the uterus with high negative pressure.

Management of artificial abortion syndrome

If symptoms of artificial abortion syndrome occur, the patient should be laid down immediately, the pulse and blood pressure should be measured, and oxygen should be given; 0.5-1 mg of atropine should be injected intramuscularly or intravenously, and 100 ml of 25%-50% glucose solution should be dripped intravenously; vasoconstrictors such as ephedrine and epinephrine should be used according to the condition, and dopamine and alamin should be dripped intravenously if necessary.
