Beware of pelvic inflammatory disease if you have diarrhea during menstruation

Recently, Ms. Wu from Wuchang District found that she had diarrhea every time she had her menstrual period since she had a termination of pregnancy last year, and antidiarrheal drugs did not help. Women who have diarrhea during their menstrual period should be alert to the possibility that pelvic inflammatory disease may be the culprit.

The reason why pelvic inflammatory disease may cause diarrhea is that the uterus is located in front of the rectum. If a woman suffers from pelvic inflammatory disease, the uterus is located in the back and the pelvic cavity is congested (the pelvic cavity is more congested before menstruation), which makes the uterus congested and soft, and it will be closer to the rectum, compressing the sacral nerve and causing a feeling of falling. At this time, the uterus squeezes the rectum, stimulating the contraction of the rectal mucosa, which will cause defecation.

This situation often occurs in women before menstruation, during menstruation, half a month after menstruation, and around 40 days of pregnancy. Often, taking antidiarrheal drugs at this time is ineffective. After a period of pelvic inflammatory disease treatment, the inflammation disappears and the diarrhea will heal without treatment. If a pregnant woman suffers from pelvic inflammatory disease, the pelvic cavity and uterus will be more congested, and the inflammation will spread to the rectum, which will irritate the rectum and cause diarrhea.

Pelvic inflammatory disease is mostly caused by pathogens invading the genitals through genital tract trauma caused by abortion or childbirth, or through the placental detachment surface or endometrial detachment surface during menstruation, as well as the wound surface of genital surgery. Pathogenic bacteria can enter the vagina from the anus and vulva, ascend along the mucosa, pass through the cervix and endometrium, and spread along the fallopian tubes to the ovaries and abdominal cavity.

Many female friends do not care about the symptoms of menstrual diarrhea. Some do not take further examinations after taking medicine on their own without any effect. It is recommended that female friends who find this symptom should go to the gynecology department for examination to rule out the cause while ruling out digestive tract diseases.
