Reasons for poor prognosis in patients with ectopic pregnancy

Reasons for poor prognosis in patients with ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is a common acute abdomen in gynecology, and its incidence has been on the rise in recent years. The reasons that affect the prognosis of ectopic pregnancy are as follows:

Subclinical infection caused by frequent miscarriages

Nowadays, young people start having sex early, the pregnancy rate is increasing, and the abortion rate is increasing. Frequent abortions can cause subclinical infection in women, which is very dangerous because there is no clinical manifestation, even the abdominal pain and fever that can alert people will not occur. In fact, the body has already been infected and there are adhesions, which increases the chance of ectopic pregnancy, and the prognosis is poor, and ectopic pregnancy is prone to occur again.

Delayed treatment leads to worsening of the condition

Some older mothers may delay the rescue of ectopic pregnancy because they insist on preserving the fetus. Some patients finally get pregnant, but when they experience adverse reactions such as vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain, they think they have a miscarriage and continue to take care of the fetus. They are unwilling to go to the hospital for examination, and even do not believe the conclusion after the examination and are unwilling to give up the fetus. This may result in delayed rescue of ectopic pregnancy and threaten life.

Misdiagnosis due to false medical history

Ectopic pregnancy often has no prominent symptoms before rupture. Patients generally have no obvious subjective symptoms or only have mild abdominal pain, a small amount of vaginal bleeding, etc., which are not taken seriously and are prone to misdiagnosis, resulting in missing the best time for treatment and leading to a poor prognosis.

In addition, many young patients conceal their sexual and medical histories from doctors for personal reasons. If they do not admit their past sexual experiences and abortion history, doctors may overlook gynecological diseases such as ectopic pregnancy during diagnosis, leading to misdiagnosis and affecting prognosis.
