Treating different types of vaginitis with traditional Chinese medicine

The principle of TCM treatment of vaginitis is to nourish yin and benefit the kidney, clear away heat and stop leukorrhea. Oral medication can improve the patient's immunity and prevent the recurrence of vaginitis. Vaginal fumigation can improve the local environment and relieve symptoms such as vaginal itching.

Oral administration

1. Patients with candidal vaginitis should use a prescription that strengthens the spleen and eliminates dampness, clears away heat and relieves itching. Commonly used drugs include: Chinese toon root bark, white atractylodes, sophora flavescens, tangerine peel, phellodendron, tuckahoe, plantain seed, white mulberry bark, atractylodes, gentian, etc.

2. Patients with trichomonas vaginitis use prescriptions that clear away heat and dampness, kill insects and relieve itching. Commonly used Chinese medicines include: honeysuckle, phellodendron, helix, radix smilax, gardenia, kochia, white mulberry bark, gardenia, white smilax, oriental water plantain, gentian, and plantain.

3. For senile vaginitis, a prescription that invigorates the spleen and kidney, clears away heat and relieves itching is used. Commonly used drugs include: Atractylodes macrocephala, Phellodendron chinense, Poria cocos, Chinese yam, Rehmannia glutinosa, Chinese yam, Polygonum multiflorum, Cornus officinalis, Rehmannia glutinosa, Cortex Moutan, Codonopsis pilosula, Kochia scoparia, etc. You can also take Zhibai Dihuang Pills orally, 3 times a day, 8 pills each time, which can play a role in clearing heat, nourishing yin and strengthening the body.

External treatment

1. Patients with candidal vaginitis can boil 30 grams of Solidago asiatica and 30 grams of Patchouli in water, discard the residue, and use it for a sitz bath or vaginal flushing.

2. For patients with trichomoniasis vaginitis, use boiled water of Sophora flavescens, Stemona bulbus, Cnidium monnieri, and Beehive to discard the residue and use it for external vaginal washing or sitz bath.

3. For patients with senile vaginitis, use Sophora flavescens, Cnidium monnieri, and Phellodendron amurense decoction and discard the residue for external washing or sitz bath; usually use 30 grams of Solidago asiatica and 15 grams of Smilax glabra decoction and discard the residue for external washing or sitz bath, which has a certain preventive and therapeutic effect.
