3 types of dysfunctional uterine bleeding

Functional uterine bleeding is mainly caused by abnormal menstrual cycle due to dysfunction of the nervous system and endocrine system. The clinical manifestations are irregular uterine bleeding, menstrual cycle disorder, prolonged bleeding time, heavy menstrual blood volume, and even heavy bleeding or spotting. Functional uterine bleeding is generally divided into 3 types:

Dysfunctional uterine bleeding in adolescence

At the time of menarche, the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis is in the process of maturing gradually, so irregular menstrual cycles are normal within two years of menarche and can generally adjust and recover on their own. If long bleeding time and heavy bleeding cause anemia, dizziness, palpitations and other symptoms, it means that the gonad axis is not fully mature and is easily affected by nutrition, mental factors and other conditions.

Dysfunctional uterine bleeding in pregnant women of childbearing age

Most of them are ovulatory, and most of them occur in the recovery period after childbirth or miscarriage. Generally speaking, the gonad axis of women of childbearing age should be in a stable state. Abnormal uterine bleeding is mostly organic lesions, such as inflammation, fat, uterine leiomyoma, endometriosis, etc., and should be diagnosed in time.

Dysfunctional uterine bleeding during menopause

Among patients with anovulatory functional uterine bleeding, menopausal functional uterine bleeding is more common, but organic lesions are also more common at this age, and pathological examination is necessary.
