What should be paid attention to when performing negative pressure aspiration

Vacuum aspiration is a method of artificial abortion, which refers to the use of a suction tube inserted into the uterine cavity to suck out the embryonic tissue with negative pressure to terminate the pregnancy. Women should pay attention to the following when choosing this type of surgery:

1. Strictly master indications and contraindications

Indications: Those who want to terminate pregnancy within 10 weeks of pregnancy without contraindications; those who are not suitable to continue the pregnancy due to certain diseases within 10 weeks of pregnancy.

Contraindications: Patients with genital malformation or inflammation; patients in the acute stage of various diseases or severe systemic diseases who cannot tolerate surgery; patients with body temperature higher than 37.5℃ twice before surgery.

2. Preoperative preparation

Ask the patient about his or her medical history in detail: including amenorrhea, early pregnancy reactions and past menstrual history, marital history and contraceptive measures, past medical history and current health status.

Related auxiliary examinations: urine hCG examination, B-type ultrasound examination to confirm intrauterine pregnancy; routine leucorrhea examination, blood routine examination and coagulation function examination; preoperative measurement of body temperature, pulse and blood pressure, etc.

3. Attention should be paid to the surgical process

For patients who are nervous or sensitive to pain, cervical mucosal anesthetics, paracervical block anesthesia or intravenous anesthesia should be used before cervical dilation. Intravenous anesthesia should be monitored by an anesthesiologist to prevent anesthesia accidents.

The negative pressure should not be too high, generally not exceeding 600 mmHg. During the operation, the uterine cavity is generally sucked in a clockwise direction for 1 to 2 weeks to suck out the pregnancy products. When the uterine cavity is felt to be shrunk, the uterine wall is rough, the suction head is close to the uterine wall, and movement is obstructed, it means that it has been sucked out.

When checking whether the uterine cavity is completely aspirated, attention should be paid to the uterine fundus and uterine cornu to prevent incomplete aspiration. At the same time, the aspirated material should be checked for the presence of villi and embryonic tissue, and whether it is consistent with the month of pregnancy. If there is any abnormality, it should be sent to the pathology department in time.
