Understanding ectopic pregnancy from the process of conception

Ectopic pregnancy, as the name suggests, is when the embryo is implanted somewhere outside the uterus, also known as ectopic pregnancy in medicine. Many young women may not understand ectopic pregnancy, nor do they know how terrible it is, and may even take it lightly. In fact, this is very dangerous, because ectopic pregnancy is like a "time bomb", which can be life-threatening if it is not treated in time after rupture. Therefore, it is very important for women of childbearing age to fully understand and pay attention to ectopic pregnancy.

From a medical point of view, the process of conception refers to the normal egg released by the female ovary, which is picked up by the fallopian tube and transported to the ampulla of the fallopian tube to combine with sperm. The fertilized egg is then transported to the uterine cavity through the fallopian tube and "travels" in the uterine cavity for 2 to 3 days, looking for a suitable place to settle, and then implants, grows and develops in the uterine cavity until full-term delivery. If there are abnormalities in the reproductive organs or blockages in the reproductive tract, including fallopian tube blockage, hydrosalpinx, fallopian tube adhesions, etc., the fertilized egg cannot be sent to the uterine cavity and is implanted in other parts, which will cause ectopic pregnancy. About 95% of ectopic pregnancies occur in the fallopian tubes, and some occur in the abdominal cavity and ovaries. Because the above parts are not suitable for pregnancy, the fertilized egg cannot develop into a fetus.

Ectopic pregnancy can also show early pregnancy symptoms, such as amenorrhea, nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, etc. The pregnancy test is positive, but it also shows its own unique symptoms such as sudden abdominal pain on one side, vaginal bleeding, shock, syncope, etc. Therefore, once an ectopic pregnancy is suspected, it should be sent to the doctor in time to prevent the patient from bleeding and death.
