Taking Chinese medicine internally and fumigating and washing to treat vulvar leukoplakia

Vulvar leukoplakia, also known as vulvar white lesions, is a tissue degeneration and hypopigmentation caused by nutritional disorders of the vulvar skin and mucous membranes. It belongs to the category of "vulvar itch", "vulvar pain", "vulvar erosion" in traditional Chinese medicine. This disease can occur at any age, but is most common in menopausal women around 50 years old. It is one of the difficult gynecological diseases. Patients often have severe vulvar itching and cracking, which seriously affects the patient's physical health and brings a lot of distress to the patient.

Clinically, the method of taking Chinese medicine orally combined with local fumigation and washing can often achieve satisfactory results. The oral prescription often uses angelica, Rehmannia glutinosa, Epimedium, Chuanxiong, White Peony Root, Peony Root, Achyranthes Bidentata, Cuscuta Sinensis, Millettia Reticulata, Psoralea Corylifolia, Cistanche Deserticola, etc., decocted in water to extract juice, and taken orally once a day; the local fumigation and washing prescription often uses Polygonum multiflorum, Rehmannia glutinosa, Angelica, Red Peony Root, Sophora flavescens, Cnidium monnieri, Stemona tuberosa, etc., wrapped in gauze, put in a basin and boil for 20 minutes, add realgar and borneol, remove the gauze bag after 5 minutes, take one dose a day, and fumigate the affected area for 15 to 20 minutes. Generally, significant effects can be achieved in about half a month.

It is worth noting that patients with vulvar leukoplakia should strictly avoid sexual intercourse during treatment; in terms of diet, they should eat more foods rich in vitamins and avoid spicy and irritating foods; pay attention to daily life conditioning, choose loose cotton underwear, and avoid wearing nylon or chemical fiber products; avoid using soap and various lotions to clean the vulva.
