Causes of incomplete abortion

Causes of incomplete abortion

Incomplete abortion means that the embryonic sac or placental tissue is not cleaned during artificial abortion, and there is involved embryonic tissue in the uterine cavity. These tissues are free in the uterine cavity or still attached to the uterine wall, resulting in excessive bleeding and prolonged bleeding time during or after surgery.

Possible causes of incomplete abortion

Unskilled surgeon

The surgeon is not skilled and has an inaccurate grasp of the size and position of the uterus. He or she has no sense of whether the uterine cavity has been sucked or scraped clean, which can easily result in the embryo or chorionic villus tissue not being sucked or scraped clean.

Uterine malformations

Uterine malformations such as uterine septum, didelphys, saddle-shaped uterus, and bicornuate uterus are difficult to operate on and may sometimes result in incomplete abortion.

Negative pressure is too high or too low

If the negative pressure is too high, it will stimulate the uterine muscle wall to contract irregularly, forming a narrow ring in a certain part of the uterine cavity, causing the tissue to rub. If the negative pressure is too low, the rubber tube is too soft, and the straw is too thin, the suction is insufficient, and incomplete abortion is likely to occur.

The fertilized egg implants in a special location

The implantation position of the fertilized egg is special, such as the implantation position at the bottom of the uterine cavity, which is not easy to be fully touched by the straw and scraper.
