Preoperative preparations for abortion

Preoperative preparations for abortion

Repeated induced abortions may affect subsequent pregnancies. Preoperative preparations should be made before induced abortion to reduce postoperative complications and the impact on subsequent pregnancies.

Preparation for artificial abortion

If you find yourself pregnant but do not want to have children or cannot have children, you should first go to the hospital to see a doctor to check whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy. If it is an intrauterine pregnancy, you should try to have an artificial abortion within 10 weeks. The longer the pregnancy is, the more surgical complications there are, so do not wait until the pregnancy is advanced to have an abortion or induced labor.

Before an artificial abortion, a comprehensive physical examination, gynecological examination, blood, urine, liver and kidney function tests should be performed to rule out other diseases and infections. If an infection is present, the inflammation should be treated before surgery.

You should take a shower and change clothes one day before the operation to avoid catching a cold. Do not eat or drink some sugar water on the morning of the operation and keep warm. If the body temperature exceeds 37.5℃, the operation should be performed on another day.

Safety of artificial abortion

Artificial abortion generally has the lowest complication rate when the quality is guaranteed, the operating procedures are strictly followed, and the operator has a certain level of technical skills. It is a relatively safe operation. However, a small number of patients may experience some complications such as bleeding, uterine perforation, artificial abortion syndrome, vacuum suction, cervical laceration, incomplete abortion, infection, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to go to a regular hospital for artificial abortion to ensure the safety of the operation.
