Brief analysis of typical symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia at different stages

It is very necessary for female friends to understand and know the symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia, so that they can detect and treat atrophic vulvar leukoplakia more timely. What are the common symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia ? Let me tell you about the common symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia.

In general, the common symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia are:

Stage I atrophic type: The main symptoms are not obvious, some patients have mild itching, no white lesions appear, and the vulva has atrophy that is not easy to be seen by the naked eye. This is a common symptom of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia.

Stage II atrophic type: The symptoms of typical atrophic vulvar leukoplakia are mild atrophy of the vulva, usually starting from the labia majora, minora, and clitoris. The elasticity of the labia majora and minora is reduced, the surface wrinkles are reduced or absent, and the vulvar pruritus is relatively mild. Due to atrophy, there may be dryness of the vulva and discomfort during sexual intercourse. The vulvar skin is partially depigmented, in multiple spots or flakes.

Stage III atrophic type: The symptoms of this atrophic type of vulvar leukoplakia are severe. The labia majora of the vulva are flat, the labia minora disappear, and the clitoris shrinks and becomes smaller or adheres. The urethral opening atrophies, and in severe cases, urinary incontinence occurs. The vaginal opening atrophies, and sexual life becomes difficult. Some patients also have anal leukoplakia and atrophy. The symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia cause the skin around the anus to have no wrinkles, reduced elasticity, and cause anal fissures during defecation. About 50% of patients have large areas of hypopigmentation on the vulvar skin.

The above is an introduction to the common symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. Once the symptoms of atrophic vulvar leukoplakia appear, you must go to the hospital for treatment immediately to avoid delaying the disease.
