Many female friends may know about acute pelvic inflammatory disease, but they are not very clear about the specific content of acute pelvic inflammatory disease. So what is acute pelvic inflammatory disease ? Let's ask experts to tell you about acute pelvic inflammatory disease.

Acute pelvic inflammatory disease is described as follows:

Acute pelvic inflammatory disease causes lower abdominal pain and fever. If the condition is severe, there may be chills, high fever, headache, and loss of appetite. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease may cause increased menstrual flow and prolonged menstruation during menstruation, and increased vaginal discharge during non-menstrual period. If there is peritonitis, there will be digestive system symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, diarrhea, etc. If there is abscess formation in patients with acute pelvic inflammatory disease, there may be a lower abdominal mass and local compression and irritation symptoms; if the mass is located in the front, there may be bladder irritation symptoms, such as dysuria and frequent urination, and if it causes cystomyositis, there may also be urinary pain, etc.; if the mass is located in the back, there may be rectal irritation symptoms, and if it is outside the peritoneum, it may cause diarrhea, tenesmus, and difficulty in defecation.

The clinical symptoms of acute pelvic inflammatory disease vary depending on the pathogen of infection. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae has an acute onset, with high fever, peritoneal irritation signs and vaginal purulent discharge usually occurring within 48 hours. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease caused by non-gonococcal Neisseria infection has a slower onset, with no obvious high fever and peritoneal irritation signs, and is often accompanied by abscess formation. If it is an anaerobic infection, it is prone to multiple recurrences and abscess formation. Patients with acute pelvic inflammatory disease tend to be older, often older than 30 years old. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease caused by Chlamydia trachomatis has a longer course of disease, with no obvious high fever and long-term persistent low fever. The main manifestations of this type of acute pelvic inflammatory disease are mild lower abdominal pain, long-term unhealed, and irregular vaginal bleeding. Patients with acute pelvic inflammatory disease present with an acute appearance, fever, increased heart rate, abdominal distension, tenderness, rebound pain and muscle tension in the lower abdomen, and weakened or absent bowel sounds.
