What are the main symptoms of candidal vaginitis?

What are the symptoms of candidal vaginitis? I believe this is a question that all patients with candidal vaginitis want to know. So what are the symptoms of candidal vaginitis? Let's take a look at it together!

Patients with candidal vaginitis present with increased leucorrhea, itching and burning sensation of the vulva and vagina, painful urination, redness and edema around the vulva, and various changes in the epidermis; very shallow vesicular papules may occur in groups; eczematous erosions may also form, which are limited to the vulva or extend to the perineum, anus and femoral genital folds, and even to the inner and outer thighs, which are completely similar to acute or subacute eczema; the mucosa near the labia and clitoris thickens, and the skin surfaces that contact each other are flushed and eroded; some may cause tiny white pustules, and in severe cases, ulcers, vulvar pain and local lymphadenopathy may occur. However, leucorrhea is not necessarily a prominent symptom of vaginitis, but watery leucorrhea can appear as well as curd-like or ointment-like leucorrhea. For example, some are completely thin, like clear serous exudate, but they often contain white flakes; others are viscous like curd or crumbs. There are often two completely different clinical manifestations. About half of the patients have a lot of watery or purulent vaginal discharge without white flakes, and the vaginal mucosa is moderately red and edematous, without severe itching or burning, and only a damp feeling in the vulva. Another type of patients have typical curd-like or flaky viscous vaginal discharge, with highly red and swollen vaginal mucosa, and white flake films (such as thrush) adhere to them, which are easy to peel off; underneath is the eroded base of the damaged mucosa or the formation of shallow ulcers, and in severe cases, ecchymosis may remain, with severe itching and burning. During pregnancy, the itching symptoms of candidal vaginitis are more severe.

The above are the symptoms of candidal vaginitis. I hope it will be helpful to you. If you want to know more about candidal vaginitis, please consult our online experts who will give you detailed answers.
