Do you know the types of cervical erosion?

Do you know the types of cervical erosion? Cervical erosion is a common gynecological disease. Many people are not very clear about what cervical erosion is like. Are there types of cervical erosion? Don't worry, the experts below will answer them for you one by one.

Cervical erosion refers to the necrosis and detachment of the squamous epithelium covering the surface of the vaginal part of the cervix during chronic cervical erosion, forming a superficial defect, which is called true erosion and is rare. The common cervical erosion in clinical practice actually refers to the proliferation of the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal mucosa after the previous epithelial injury, and extends to the defect of the leucocyte epithelium of the vaginal part of the uterus, covering the wound surface and replacing the original leucocyte epithelium defect area. Because the columnar epithelium is thin, the congested capillaries under the mucosa are obvious, so the lesion mucosa of the external cervical opening appears as a bright red erosion-like area to the naked eye.

The types of cervical erosion vary according to different situations. Generally, there are several classification methods:

1. Clinically, cervical erosion can be divided into three degrees: mild (I), moderate (II), and severe (III) according to the size of the eroded surface.

2. According to the manifestations of cervical erosion, the types of cervical erosion can be divided into three categories:

Simple erosion: more common in the early stage of inflammation, the erosion surface is covered by a single layer of columnar epithelium, and the epidermis is relatively flat and smooth;

Granular erosion: The inflammation continues to exist, causing excessive proliferation of the cervical epithelium, and the erosion surface is uneven and granular in appearance, which is granular erosion;

Papillary erosion: If the glandular epithelium and stroma proliferate significantly, the unevenness becomes more obvious, and it is papillary-shaped, which is papillary erosion.

3. According to the cause, cervical erosion can be divided into two types: specific and non-specific.

Specific: refers to infection caused by bacteria. Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis are the most common pathogens of cervical infection.

Non-specific: Most cases are caused by an imbalance in estrogen secretion, such as many unmarried and childless people.

Due to the long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation, tissue hyperplasia causes cervical hypertrophy. Therefore, cervical erosion is often accompanied by cervical hypertrophy. Even if the inflammation is cured, cervical hypertrophy may still exist.

The above are the types of cervical erosion introduced by experts. I hope it will be helpful to you. If female friends find that they have cervical erosion during physical examination, please go to a regular hospital for treatment as soon as possible and recover as soon as possible. The disease cannot be delayed and you cannot joke with your life.
