How is cervical hypertrophy diagnosed?

Do you know how to diagnose cervical hypertrophy? Have you paid attention to the diagnosis process of cervical hypertrophy? Let's learn about the diagnosis of cervical hypertrophy.

Cervical hypertrophy is caused by chronic inflammation that stimulates cervical tissue congestion, edema, glandular and stroma hyperplasia. The disease occurs in the cervix. According to the diagnostic criteria for cervical hypertrophy, cervical hypertrophy is sometimes 2 to 4 times larger than a normal cervix. The surface of the cervix may be smooth or eroded. The texture of the cervix is generally hard, which is caused by the hyperplasia of fibrous connective tissue.

Traditionally, the diagnosis of cervical hypertrophy is to screen for cervical diseases with cervical smears. However, due to many objective conditions, the false positive rate of a single cervical smear is high. Therefore, the single cervical smear screening for cervical diseases must have negative results for more than three consecutive times to be confirmed. However, if an experienced doctor performs a colposcopy, more than 95% of the cervical hypertrophy can be confirmed with a single examination.

Another way to diagnose cervical hypertrophy is through colposcopy. It is a magnifying glass equipped with a strong light source. Since the colposcopy can magnify the lesion ten to forty times, it can observe minor lesions on the cervical epidermis that are invisible to the naked eye. With the help of 3% to 5% acetic acid solution, it is possible to distinguish whether the changes in cervical cells are benign or malignant; biopsy under colposcopy positioning can increase the positive detection rate and assist in the early detection of precancerous and cancerous changes in clinic. If cytological analysis is used, combined with colposcopy and endoscopic biopsy, and endocervical scraping when necessary, the diagnostic accuracy of precancerous lesions and early invasive cancer is greatly improved.

Therefore, the combined examination of cervical smear and colposcopy can greatly increase the probability of diagnosing cervical hypertrophy and is an important measure for the early treatment of cervical diseases and other reproductive tract diseases.

The above is our introduction to the diagnosis of cervical hypertrophy. The first diagnosis of cervical hypertrophy introduced above is actually flawed. I hope you can make the correct judgment among the two diagnostic methods of cervical hypertrophy introduced to us to check whether you have cervical hypertrophy.
