Does cervical erosion and hypertrophy need to be checked?

Does cervical erosion and hypertrophy need to be checked?

Cervical erosion and cervical hypertrophy usually do not require special treatment, but regular examinations are required to exclude other lesions. Cervical erosion is often related to changes in hormone levels, while cervical hypertrophy may be caused by chronic inflammation or cervical gland cysts. Regular cervical cytology examinations such as TCT and HPV testing are necessary to ensure early detection of abnormalities.

1. Cervical erosion is a common physiological phenomenon, mainly related to elevated estrogen levels, and is not a disease. It usually does not cause obvious symptoms, but if accompanied by abnormal secretions or bleeding, further examination is required. It is recommended to have a gynecological examination once a year, including cervical cytology and HPV testing, to rule out cervical precancerous lesions.

2. Cervical hypertrophy may be the result of chronic cervicitis, cervical gland cysts or multiple births. If accompanied by increased vaginal discharge, odor or bleeding after sexual intercourse, seek medical attention immediately. Treatments include anti-inflammatory drugs, physical therapy such as laser or freezing, and surgical removal when necessary.

3. Regular check-ups are the key to preventing cervical lesions. It is recommended that women have a gynecological examination every year, especially those over 30 years old. The examination items include cervical cytology, HPV testing, and colposcopy. If necessary, cervical biopsy is performed to ensure early detection and treatment of potential problems.

Cervical erosion and cervical hypertrophy are not serious diseases in themselves, but regular examinations are needed to exclude other lesions and ensure the health of the cervix. It is recommended that women maintain good living habits, avoid unclean sexual behavior, enhance immunity, and prevent the occurrence of cervical lesions.
