2. Affect the quality of sexual life: Severe cervicitis will affect the quality of sexual life, causing women to feel pain and discomfort during sexual intercourse, and then refuse sexual intercourse.

3. Infertility: About 20% to 25% of patients with excessive vaginal discharge are caused by cervicitis. If inflammation causes thick pus in vaginal discharge, it is not conducive to the passage of sperm through the cervical canal, leading to infertility. This is one of the common hazards of cervicitis.

4. Induce cervical cancer: According to statistics, the incidence of women with cervicitis is 10 times that of women without cervicitis, which is also a hazard of cervicitis. Long-term treatment or long-term cure of cervicitis is considered a factor of cervical cancer.

How to prevent recurrence of cervicitis?

1. Temporarily abstain from sexual intercourse for 1-2 months, because after the treatment of cervicitis, a layer of inflammatory scab will fall off on the surface and new tissue will slowly grow. During the tissue repair process, if sexual intercourse is performed, the new wound on the cervix will be worn or even bleed, which will affect the efficacy and is not conducive to the prevention of cervicitis.

2. Two or three days after the treatment of chronic cervicitis, there will be more blood or yellow watery secretions discharged from the vagina. Therefore, cotton sanitary pads can be used during the day, and new pads need to be replaced frequently. To prevent cervicitis, you can also wash the vulva with clean water, once in the morning and evening.
