Can I still get pregnant with an ovarian cyst? What is the cause?

Ovarian cysts are common tumors of the female genitals. Generally speaking, they do not have much impact on sexual life, but they should be avoided as much as possible. Excessive sexual activity may cause many complications, such as ovarian cyst rupture, vaginal bleeding, continuous menstruation, worsening abdominal pain, worsening of the condition, and even the possibility of cancer due to increased inflammation. Therefore, female friends should moderate their sexual life before they are fully cured to avoid other adverse consequences caused by excessive sexual activity.

The most common ovarian cysts in women of childbearing age are functional ovarian cysts, which are caused by excessive physiological reactions of the ovaries themselves or drug stimulation. Patients generally do not feel any discomfort, and a few may have menstrual disorders, which are often discovered accidentally during medical examinations for other reasons. Functional ovarian cysts are mostly less than 5 cm in diameter and can disappear naturally, and generally do not require treatment.

Ovarian cysts can affect pregnancy due to:

1. Ovarian cysts can cause infertility because when ovarian cysts grow too fast or too large, they can seriously damage female ovarian function and cause female infertility.

2. Ovarian cysts destroy the endocrine balance, thereby interfering with the normal secretion of ovarian hormones and ovulation, resulting in symptoms such as amenorrhea, uterine bleeding, hirsutism and infertility.

3. When an ovarian cyst ruptures, it will cause ovarian necrosis, followed by ovarian dysfunction, resulting in ovarian failure to ovulate. If it is bilateral, the impact is greater.

4. Ovarian cysts are malignant lesions that destroy most of the ovarian tissue, which may cause ovarian dysfunction, anovulation, adhesion to surrounding tissues, and blockage of the fallopian tubes, all of which can cause female infertility.
