Effect of focused ultrasound in treating cervical erosion

Effect of focused ultrasound in treating cervical erosion

Women with cervical erosion need to receive appropriate treatment if they have increased secretions, thick and odorous discharge, contact bleeding, etc. There are many treatment methods in clinical practice, and physical therapy is the most commonly used. However, adverse reactions such as continuous large amounts of vaginal discharge, vaginal bleeding after scab removal, and cervical stenosis usually occur in the short term after treatment.

Focused ultrasound is a non-invasive local treatment method for cervical erosion that has been developed in recent years. It mainly utilizes the good tissue penetration, positioning and energy deposition of ultrasound to focus on the target tissue at a specific depth through the surface tissue. The mechanical effect, thermal effect, etc. produced can transiently cause damage to the pathological tissue and achieve the treatment goal.

The dosage of focused ultrasound in treating cervical erosion is relatively constant and easy to control. After treatment, only local tissue has transient congestion and edema; there is less vaginal discharge and bloody secretions, no scab shedding and epidermal repair process on the cervix, little bleeding, and it is not easy to get infected; there is no pain, smoke or abnormal odor during the treatment; the treatment time is longer than other physical treatments (except the menstrual period and any other time within 3 days before and after the menstrual period can be treated); there is no scar after treatment, no complications such as endocervical hyperplasia and cervical stenosis, and the safety is relatively high.

However, it should be noted that the cure rate is related to the degree of erosion and pathological type. If the degree of erosion is mild and the lesions are shallow, the cure rate is higher; if the degree of erosion is severe and the lesions are deep, the cure rate is lower.
