At what stage does cervical erosion need to be treated? Women must know these common sense about cervical erosion diseases

Cervical disease is one of the most common diseases among women, and its incidence rate is increasing year by year. Every year, 131,500 new cases of cervical disease occur in my country, accounting for one-third of the world's total number of cases, and about 50,000 people die from cervical disease every year. The most well-known chronic cervicitis, cervical erosion, cervical cancer, etc. have caused "red lights" in the lives of thousands of women.

Treatment of cervical erosion

Only moderate erosions require treatment

Some women mistakenly believe that a smooth cervix is healthy. In fact, this is a manifestation of lack of medical knowledge, coupled with various misleading information, leading to overtreatment.

Cervical erosion can be divided into three degrees according to the depth of the lesion: mild, moderate, and severe. If it is mild and superficial erosion, even if the erosion surface is large, but the erosion depth is shallow, and there is not much leucorrhea, it can be temporarily left untreated. If it is moderate or above papillary erosion, cancer prevention examinations and treatment must be performed.

Erosion cannot be used as a criterion for cervical cancer

In fact, simple cervical columnar epithelial ectopia is just a physiological phenomenon, and the degree of ectopia has no direct relationship with cervical cancer. What doctors need to do is to judge whether it is related to cervical lesions or just caused by hormonal changes based on this symptom.

The presence of "erosion" does not mean that it is a precancerous lesion of cervical cancer; the absence of "erosion" does not mean that you cannot get cervical cancer. If you suspect that there is a problem with your cervix, you can go to the hospital for relevant examinations. Normal women should undergo cytopathology and virus examinations every 1 to 2 years. If there is a problem, they can undergo colposcopy and histopathology examinations.
