What are the symptoms of adenomyosis, mild or severe? Adenomyosis is a common gynecological disease, defined as the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity, such as in the myometrium, ovaries or other parts of the pelvic cavity. The following are the symptoms of adenomyosis, ranging in severity: 1. Dysmenorrhea. Progressive dysmenorrhea is a common and prominent feature of adenomyosis and can occur before, during, and after menstruation. Some women have severe dysmenorrhea, which is so severe that they need to stay in bed or take medication to relieve the pain. Some women even roll on the bed or bang their heads in pain. The pain often worsens with the menstrual cycle and disappears when the menstruation ends. 80% of patients with adenomyosis have obvious dysmenorrhea symptoms! 2. Infertility. About 50% of endometriosis patients suffer from infertility; among patients with unexplained infertility, about 30-40% suffer from adenomyosis. Infertility in patients with adenomyosis is often caused by factors such as pelvic masses, adhesions, fallopian tube blockage, poor follicle development or ovulation disorders caused by the disease. 3. Irregular menstruation. In intrinsic adenomyosis, the menstrual volume is often increased and the menstrual period is prolonged. This may be due to the increase of endometrium, but it is often accompanied by ovarian dysfunction. Irregular menstruation can be used as a diagnostic reference, but it has no value in differential diagnosis. 4. Pain during sexual intercourse. Adenomyosis that occurs in the rectouterine fossa and vaginal rectal septum causes swelling of the surrounding tissues and affects sexual life. 5. Periodic rectal irritation symptoms. The progressive and aggravated periodic rectal irritation symptoms are rare in other gynecological diseases and are the most valuable symptoms for diagnosing this disease. They are manifested as distension, pain, tenesmus and increased frequency of bowel movements in the rectum, anus and vulva. 6. Periodic bladder irritation symptoms. |
