Are the symptoms of pregnancy and uterine fibroids similar?

Are the early symptoms of pregnancy similar to those of uterine fibroids? Many women find it difficult to tell whether they are pregnant or have uterine fibroids after a gynecological examination. So are the symptoms of pregnancy and uterine fibroids similar?

The early symptom of pregnancy is usually amenorrhea. If the menstrual period is missed for 10 days or more, pregnancy should be suspected. Amenorrhea may be the earliest and most important symptom of pregnancy. About 6 weeks after amenorrhea, symptoms such as chills, dizziness, fatigue, drowsiness, drooling, loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting in the morning will appear. Frequent urination symptoms may also occur.

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive organs, also known as uterine leiomyoma. They are common in women aged 30 to 50. The vast majority of uterine fibroids are benign. The most common symptoms of uterine fibroids are menstrual changes, manifested as shortened menstrual cycles, increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual periods, irregular vaginal bleeding, and often lower abdominal distension, back pain, etc.

The symptoms of pregnancy and uterine fibroids have nothing in common, and pregnant women can be easily diagnosed with the disease. Pregnancy and uterine fibroids can be easily determined through B-ultrasound examination.

Women with uterine fibroids must be careful when they are pregnant. The impact of uterine fibroids on pregnancy varies depending on the size and location of the tumor. Small fibroids, subserosal fibroids, or fibroids near the serosa have little effect on pregnancy, but multiple fibroids or fibroids of the uterine wall and submucosal fibroids that protrude into the uterine cavity can hinder conception and cause infertility or miscarriage.

The symptoms of pregnancy and uterine fibroids are not the same. Pregnancy usually causes amenorrhea, dizziness and vomiting, while uterine fibroids usually cause menstrual irregularities and abdominal pain. Women who have these symptoms at the beginning should go to the hospital for a detailed gynecological examination to determine whether it is a disease or pregnancy.
