Androgens can be used to treat uterine fibroids

Experts say: Uterine fibroids are related to hormones. Because of this, androgens are generally used to treat uterine fibroids in clinical practice. However, some precautions should be taken when using androgens to treat uterine fibroids, because blind treatment may be counterproductive and have a greater impact on the patient. So, what should be paid attention to in the treatment of uterine fibroids?

Methyltestosterone is generally used clinically to treat uterine fibroids. Methyltestosterone is a synthetic androgen that can counteract estrogen, inhibit endometrial growth and pituitary gland; promote protein synthesis and bone formation; stimulate bone marrow hematopoiesis, increase red blood cells and hemoglobin, and methyltestosterone is very effective in treating uterine fibroids.

However, not all uterine fibroids are suitable for androgen treatment. There are still certain indications. For example, primary or secondary male sexual dysfunction, palliative treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women, functional uterine bleeding, etc. The dosage must be strictly controlled. For palliative treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women, take orally or sublingually, 25 mg at a time, 1-4 times a day. If the treatment responds, after 2-4 weeks, the dosage can be reduced to 2 times a day, orally or sublingually.

However, it should be used with caution in patients with poor heart, liver, or kidney function, prostate hypertrophy, and hypertension.

Uterine fibroids can be treated with surgery, diet therapy, and medication. No matter which method is used to treat uterine fibroids, a clear diagnosis must be made and the method that suits you must be selected. It is recommended that patients go to a gynecological hospital for a checkup to confirm their condition. The doctor will communicate with the patient based on the patient's examination results and choose a suitable treatment method. To treat uterine fibroids, patients must actively cooperate with the doctor's treatment and take relevant precautions so that you can recover as soon as possible.
