New "calcium" concept for bone growth! Drinking fresh milk every day is healthy and guaranteed

Children's growth requires a new "calcium" concept! To help bones grow, we must have the correct concept of calcium supplementation. Dr. Xu Jiaxian (Dr. Dark Circle Dad), deputy director of Ye Yili Pediatric Clinic, recommends that parents should establish the awareness of "growing with calcium" in their children to help bone growth. It is recommended that children consume one to two servings of fresh milk every day to supplement calcium!

Calcium is a key nutrient for bone growth and development. Lack of calcium may affect bone support.

According to a survey conducted by the National Health Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Taiwanese children generally do not get enough calcium! If there is insufficient calcium, bone density and bone support will be affected. Dr. Xu Jiaxian explained that a growing child's appearance, whether it is height, body shape or teeth, will change significantly because they are still developing, and are more likely to attract the attention of their parents. However, it is often difficult to judge directly from the appearance whether the bones are developing normally, which makes parents easily neglect it.

Bone components can be divided into organic matter and inorganic matter. The main component of organic matter is protein, which helps bones become strong and resilient, while the main component of inorganic matter is calcium, which helps bones mineralize, become hard and have bearing capacity. If there is insufficient calcium, it will affect bone density and bone support.

Survey: Nearly 85% of Taiwanese children consume less than 1.5 servings of fresh milk per day

Fresh milk is a drink that can easily supplement calcium in daily life. The National Health Administration also recommends that elementary and middle school students should consume 1.5 to 2 servings of low-fat dairy products daily. However, according to a survey, nearly 85% of children in Taiwan consume less than 1.5 servings of fresh milk per day, and some children have not drunk it for more than a week. This does not meet the recommended standard, which is worrying.

According to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, children who do not drink milk for a long time have much lower calcium intake than those who do drink milk, and their bone health is also poorer. In addition, studies have found that children who do not drink milk for a long time during their developmental period have an increased risk of bone fractures compared to children who drink milk. Dr. Xu Jiaxian urges parents not to ignore the current situation of insufficient calcium and fresh milk intake, which will put their children in a bone development crisis!

Growing with calcium: One to two servings of milk a day to supplement calcium and protein to help bone development

Nutritionist Cheng Hanyu emphasized that growing children need to supplement with enough calcium and protein, plus more exercise and adequate sleep to help the healthy development of bones and good growth. Fresh milk not only contains calcium and protein, two essential nutrients for children's growth, but is also a good drink that is easy to obtain.

Nutritionist Cheng Hanyu said that the golden period of human growth is from preschool to adolescence. Parents should seize this period and let their children consume one to two servings of fresh milk every day. One serving of fresh milk is 240ml, which is about the amount of a bottle of ready-to-drink milk in a convenience store. When choosing fresh milk, you can choose fresh milk that has fresh milk labels and international medals, as the quality is more guaranteed.
