I have only a few students who have persisted for a year from the beginning. Compared with most people, they were actually in the worst condition from the beginning, including their posture, flexibility, physical strength, and athletic level. They were not at all the people I expected to persist. However, those who are younger, have better physical fitness, flexibility, and movement ability, did not persist as long as them. So do you think it is more important to be patient and hardworking, or to be young and in good physical condition? Some people have good physical fitness and make rapid progress, but it is not sustained. Some people have poor physical fitness and make slow progress, but they are very patient and continue. Those students who I didn’t expect to persist, actually showed patience and perseverance in the long run. Even if the progress was slow, it told me that the one who needed patience the most was me! If I can be patient with myself, I should be even more patient with others, because I myself am a person who makes slow progress. The following is a real-life testimony from one of my students.
