Keep warm by jogging! Winter Sports Life Tips

In winter, you don’t want to go out and just want to stay at home, but in fact, winter is a great time to exercise! Professional fitness coach Li Zheyu said that if you choose to jog in the winter, you don’t have to worry about being too hot or getting heatstroke. People who practice long-distance running usually achieve record-breaking results in the winter! In addition, when there is no sunshine, people are particularly prone to depression, and jogging is a good way to make people feel cheerful. Even if you just go out for a 20-30 minute jog, it can be of obvious help.

In addition to making you feel more cheerful, jogging has another reason that will make you fall in love with jogging. It allows you to not worry about eating too much and getting swollen in the winter or being unable to show your face in the summer. Although the cold weather makes people want to stay at home, winter is a great opportunity for jogging enthusiasts that cannot be missed. What do you say? Because winter is the season when major marathons and road running events are held around the world! As long as you warm up before running, it is actually more suitable for running than in summer! Let professional fitness coach Li Zheyu tell you some essential tips for jogging in winter. Even if you only run 1 kilometer, you still need to remember them~

Stretching and warming up the thighs, arms and joints throughout the body can prevent cramps. You can also brisk walk for the first five minutes of running to help warm up the body.

The end of jogging is actually the time when you are most likely to catch a cold, so prepare an extra set of clothes to avoid catching a cold.

Even if you don’t sweat much when exercising in the winter, the water you need is no less than that in the summer, so it’s time to feed your body water before it feels thirsty!

When considering the jogging route, many people will ignore the wind direction and inhale cold air against the wind while running, which is of course not good for the nasal cavity and respiratory tract. The best way is to run back and forth so that you won't be greeted by cold wind.

Most sportswear is made of polyester, which has the advantage of "moisture wicking" and its non-easy-to-get-dirty nature makes it more washable and durable. In addition, there is usually little sunshine in Taiwan in winter, and it is cloudy all day long. If you go out for a jog in the evening or early morning, remember to wear bright-colored clothes for safety!

Protect the parts of the body exposed to cold air, such as the head and hands. You can prepare a headscarf or hat to keep warm. There are also special sports gloves that can help the peripheral nerves keep out the cold. You can also pair it with a pair of nine-point leggings to help keep you warm.

In addition to fear of cramps, running in winter also causes fear of hyperventilation, especially for those with nasal allergies or beginners in running. If you only breathe through your nose, you will have shorter breath and be more prone to panting; if you are worried that your throat will be too dry if you breathe through your mouth, just alternate between the two methods!

Whether it is summer or winter, you should eat something before running to avoid being out of energy. Running in winter requires more calories to maintain body temperature, so remember to replenish some high-calorie food 30 minutes before running, without feeling guilty!
