Does pelvic effusion affect pregnancy?

Physiological pelvic effusion will not affect pregnancy. Pathological pelvic effusion can easily lead to pelvic adhesion and fallopian tube blockage, affecting pregnancy.

Pelvic effusion refers to the exudate of pelvic inflammation, which usually occurs after endometrial inflammation. The swollen cells of the endometrial tissue exude a slightly viscous fluid, which is gradually wrapped by the surrounding tissue to form a cystic mass.

Will pelvic effusion affect pregnancy?

Generally speaking, pelvic effusion is divided into physiological and pathological. Physiological pelvic effusion often occurs after female ovulation or in early pregnancy, and can disappear naturally without treatment and has no effect on pregnancy. Pathological gynecological pelvic effusion is mostly caused by pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis or endometriosis. If not treated, the effusion will gradually increase, leading to female infertility.

What causes pelvic effusion?

1. Not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation: Not paying attention to personal vaginal hygiene during menstruation, using unclean sanitary napkins, having sexual intercourse during menstruation, etc., can easily allow pathogens to invade the reproductive tract and spread upward, causing pelvic inflammatory disease.

2. Excessive sexual activity and lack of attention to cleanliness: Having sex too frequently and neglecting local cleanliness and other bad habits can cause bacteria to enter the female vagina, infect the pelvic cavity, and cause pelvic inflammation.

3. Low resistance: There are pathogenic bacteria in the female vagina. When a woman is physically strong, these bacteria will not come out to cause trouble. Once the resistance is reduced, pathogenic bacteria will take the opportunity to enter and cause pelvic inflammatory disease.
