How to choose sports shoes! 3 tips to avoid lower limb pain

Sports shoes are very important for sports. Scientific research has shown that 70% of lower limb pain is related to improper wearing of shoes. Causes of pain can be divided into 3 categories:

Reason 1/Choosing training shoes with poor performance: poor shock absorption and insufficient heel elasticity can easily cause calluses and heel pain.

Reason 2/ Wearing the same pair of shoes for a long time: Each pair of shoes has a different force-bearing structure. Wearing the same pair for a long time can easily cause wear and tear on specific joints of the lower limbs.

Reason 3/Choosing the wrong shoes: This is the reason for most people. A soldier once told me that he had no problem walking 30 kilometers at a time in the barracks, but his feet hurt a lot when he participated in walking activities. It turned out that he was wearing hiking shoes when he was hiking, which are not suitable for walking. Hiking shoes will cause great tension on the heels, and the soles are too hard and the cushioning is too weak, which can easily cause foot pain.

Therefore, the key to choosing walking shoes is whether they fit your feet well and whether their structure is suitable for walking. When buying shoes, pay attention to the following 3 points:

Key point 1/Appearance: When walking, the front of the sole should be curved and slightly raised. This can reduce the strain on the Achilles tendon and reduce the chance of heel pain. In addition, the heel part should preferably have a shock-absorbing effect to reduce the impact when landing.

Point 2/Bending degree: First, we need to consider the bending resistance of the shoe. Use both hands to fold the shoe front to back and see which part bends easily. Generally speaking, shoes with a more flexible forefoot area are better. Some shoes are prone to bending in the middle of the sole, which can cause pain in the soles of the feet and enlarged feet after walking for a long time. Secondly, shoes that are too easy to twist can easily damage the arch of the foot, so shoes that are not easy to twist are better.

Point 3/Breathability: Walking for a long time can easily cause sweating and lead to foot ulcers. Especially people with diabetes should pay more attention. Choose mesh material for better breathability.
