What is gout?

In the acute stage of gout attacks, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics (NSAIDs), colchicine and steroids are mainly used for anti-inflammatory and analgesic purposes; for long-term control of gout, uric acid-lowering drugs such as Benzbromarone, Sulfinpyrazone, Probenecid, Allopurinol and Febuxostat are used to control blood uric acid levels and prevent joint damage and kidney damage.

1. Drink more water:

As the temperature drops, many people will drink less water, which can easily lead to blood concentration and a decrease in urine. Uric acid is mainly excreted through the kidneys. The decrease in urine makes it impossible for uric acid to be excreted, and it accumulates in the body, increasing the risk of gout. So don’t drink water only when you are thirsty. Drink more warm water, which can warm your body, help dilute uric acid in the body, and reduce the risk of gout attacks.

2. Control seafood:

Gotu Kola is the killer of acute gout attacks. Dietary intake such as hot pot soup and seafood should be moderate. It is recommended to drink sugar-free tea instead of thick soup or long-cooked hot pot soup, add more vegetables, and avoid excessive meat intake, which can reduce the chance of gout attacks.

3. Exercise appropriately:

In winter, you should do more appropriate exercise to stretch your muscles and bones. Light exercise, such as walking or yoga, can not only help control your weight, but also promote blood circulation. Drinking more water can reduce the onset of gout.
