Want to be even thinner? Too much weight can easily lead to osteoporosis

Girls who only want to lose weight should be careful, as they may lose weight at the expense of their health. Orthopedic surgeons have found that many women who love beauty try to lose weight in various ways in pursuit of a slim figure. Their thin bodies result in insufficient gravity on their bones and low bone density, which may lead to them becoming "candidates" for osteoporosis in the long run.

Chen Zhihua, chief physician of the Department of Orthopedics at the Peking University Health Science Center, pointed out that brisk walking has many benefits. In addition to preventing osteoporosis, it can also prevent and improve chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Chen Zhihua, professor of orthopedics at Taipei Medical University and attending physician of orthopedics at Taipei Health Science Center, pointed out that gravity can make bones denser, and maintaining an ideal body weight is the best way to maintain gravity. According to statistics, people with a BMI (body mass index) greater than 18 are much less likely to develop osteoporosis than those with a BMI less than 18, and of course are less likely to suffer from fracture accidents. Therefore, people who are underweight are prone to premature osteoporosis due to insufficient gravity on their bones.

It is worth noting that 45 years old is an important watershed in human bone density. Once you pass this age, bones and muscles will begin to age, and the rate of bone loss will significantly accelerate. If enough "bone mass" is not stored early, osteoporosis may occur early.

In addition to maintaining an ideal body weight, Chen Zhihua reminded the public that they should also develop a good habit of regular exercise. Through exercise, they can increase the compression of gravity on the bones, increase bone density, prevent osteoporosis, while also enhancing muscle strength, improving the flexibility of joints and tendons, and reducing the chance of accidental falls.

Among all kinds of sports, walking is the simplest and easiest one, suitable for people of all ages. Scientific research has found that brisk walking has many benefits. In addition to preventing osteoporosis, it can also prevent and improve chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.

Japanese medical research shows that people who consume 300 calories more per day will live longer than those who do not do the same exercise, 1.3 times longer for men and 1.8 times longer for women. Walking more than 10,000 steps a day can burn more than 300 calories. According to statistics, brisk walking more than three times a week can reduce the risk of heart disease by 30% to 40%; walking for one hour a day can prevent type 2 diabetes by about 50%, and it also has a good blood sugar control effect on diabetic patients.

【Things to note when walking】

1. Try to keep your body lines as high as possible when walking.

2. Look straight ahead, raise your head, and relax your neck.

3. Relax your shoulders, lower and back, and don't hunch your back.

4. Gently contract your abdominal muscles to flatten your lower back.

5. The pelvis should be directly under the body when adducted.

6. Step size should be based on comfort.

7. Don't take big steps intentionally. To test the size of your natural stride, you can use the following simple method: stand with your feet together, lean your body forward from your ankles, and then step one foot forward to avoid falling. The size of this step is approximately your natural stride.
