British woman saves 10 years by taking ephedrine

Having a good figure is what every woman dreams of, but it is difficult to control your appetite, so many people seek to lose weight by taking weight-loss drugs. However, one must be careful when using drugs. In the UK, a woman bought ephedrine online as a weight loss drug and took it for four years, which caused heart problems and other side effects. She was left with only 10 years to live.

According to the British Mail Online, 46-year-old Michelle Rumsey was originally 165 cm tall and weighed 60 kg, which was not overweight. However, because she did not want her boyfriend, who was 11 years younger than her, to think that she looked too old, she wanted to have a young and slim figure. So when she saw a weight loss article on the Internet that pointed out that ephedrine can speed up metabolism and effectively lose weight, she decided to take ephedrine to lose weight, and she has been taking it for 4 years.

After taking ephedrine, her appetite decreased and she almost skipped breakfast and dinner. Over time, this caused irreparable damage to her body. She suffered from anxiety, insomnia, palpitations and other adverse reactions. Although she later followed the doctor's instructions to quit taking ephedrine and cooperated with the treatment, her life expectancy is estimated to be only about 10 years. She blamed herself and said that although she knew she should consult a doctor before taking any medication, she did not expect the situation to be so serious that she would even lose her life.

Ephedrine is a Class IV controlled drug ingredient in Taiwan and is often used as a raw material in cold medicines. Because it can accelerate vasoconstriction, it is often used to treat nasal congestion symptoms. However, this is also one of the ingredients of the drug amphetamine. Therefore, in recent years, the Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health has strengthened the strict control of ephedrine, and large quantities of ephedrine are not allowed to be sold in pharmacies to prevent people with ulterior motives from refining and making drugs.
