I can’t lose weight after giving birth! Body sculpture outpatient consultation increased by 30%

The birth boom in the Year of the Dragon has brought about many surrounding business opportunities. Not only are hospital obstetrics and gynecology departments busy with business, but even medical cosmetic clinics that help mothers lose weight and become more beautiful after giving birth have also become very busy. Six months after giving birth, a woman was very troubled because her belly still looked like a swimming ring, especially the obvious stretch marks and cellulite on her abdomen. So I sought help from medical cosmetic surgery to sculpt my body and remove stretch marks.

Inquiries about postpartum body sculpting have increased, with the number of visitors increasing by at least 30%. (Photo provided by Shuanghe Hospital)

Li Wanruo, director of the dermatology department at Shuanghe Hospital, said that the craze for childbirth in the Year of the Dragon has continued into the field of medical aesthetics, with inquiries about postpartum body sculpting increasing, with the number of inquiries rising by at least 30%. The parts of the body that mothers are most concerned about after giving birth include the lower abdomen, inner thighs, butterfly sleeves, etc. Currently, the more suitable body sculpting methods are radiofrequency skin tightening, laser lipolysis and cryolipolysis, so the inquiries about these projects have also increased.

However, not all women are suitable for body sculpture. If they have a caesarean section, they must wait 3 to 6 months after delivery for the wound to heal before they can undergo body sculpture.

Radiofrequency skin tightening is suitable for mothers with loose belly, but it is not effective for large areas or when the fat is too thick. Radiofrequency skin tightening uses a tiny fiber optic probe to penetrate deep into the fat tissue, releasing laser energy with a wavelength of 1320mm, and using the light shock wave effect to break the cell membrane of the fat cells and liquefy the fat. When negatively charged electrons enter the skin, they will produce a polarization effect, oscillating back and forth 6 million times per second, thus generating heat through friction. This heat energy is used to stimulate collagen proliferation and produce a firming effect.

As for laser lipolysis, it is more suitable for fat on the inner thighs, butterfly sleeves, and eliminating stubborn fat cells. Using the current fiber optic probe, the 980nm wavelength laser fiber is inserted deep into the subcutaneous fat layer, and the laser light energy is quickly released at a shock wave rate of 5 to 40 Hz per second. Laser light waves will shatter the cell membrane of fat cells, destroying the fat cells to achieve the purpose of fat loss.

Cryolipolysis takes advantage of the fact that fat cannot tolerate cold. It uses a low-temperature treatment device at about 4 to 5 degrees Celsius to transmit freezing waves to the part where you want to lose weight. The fat that is exposed to the cold will undergo self-death and be excreted from the body through the body's natural metabolic process. One course of treatment can usually reduce nearly 22% of fat, and the effect will be felt after about 3 months. Li Wanruo reminded that cryolipolysis technology can only be used 3 to 6 months after delivery, when the wound has healed.
