In summer, you will sweat a lot and eat less fried food, drink enough water

The temperature has been rising sharply in recent days. The high temperature has greatly increased the amount of oil and sweat produced. Excessive oil production will clog the pores, causing acne on the face and even the back. Excessive sweating and lack of water may lead to heat stroke. The outpatient clinic shows that patients seeking treatment due to heat stroke account for 40% of the number of patients seeking treatment in the hospital. If they do not replenish water in time, they may be at risk of death from heat exhaustion.

For every 1 degree rise in temperature in summer, the sebaceous glands will secrete 10% more oil.

The high temperature in summer can easily stimulate the sebaceous glands to secrete oil. On average, for every 1 degree increase in temperature, the sebaceous glands secrete 10% more oil. In addition to frequent oily skin, facial acne is something that people want to get rid of as soon as possible. Many people will spend a lot of money to buy cleaning or skin care products to control oil, but on the other hand, they still do not control their diet and like to eat fried, spicy, and irritating foods. Staying up late and lack of sleep are also factors that induce oily skin.

Nutritionist Xie Yifang suggests that to prevent the oil secretion from getting worse, you can reduce the oil secretion by simply avoiding eating fried foods. In addition, some people take a low-oil diet or even go oil-free. However, excessively reducing oil intake is also harmful to the body. Therefore, there is no need to deliberately reduce fat intake, the amount of fat intake every day should still not be reduced.

In addition to oily secretions, sweating is also a big problem when it's hot. In recent summers, there have been frequent reports of people dying from the heat. This is because not drinking enough water leads to dehydration, heat stroke, coma, and finally a chain reaction of death from heat exhaustion. People who engage in outdoor activities in high temperatures should pay attention to replenishing water at all times. Try to carry water with you and replenish water as soon as you feel thirsty. If you cannot carry water with you, it is best to drink some water before the activity.

The heat stroke clinic also found that some heat stroke patients have an incorrect concept of drinking water. They often drink thousands of cc of water at a time. The longer the interval between water replenishment, the greater the chance of heat stroke. Drinking too much water at one time, in addition to easily causing burden on the heart and kidneys, the sudden increase of water in the body will dilute electrolytes such as salt, potassium, and sodium, which can easily lead to water poisoning. The symptoms range from mild fatigue and discomfort to coma, difficulty breathing, and even death. It is recommended to replenish about 250cc of water at a time.

In addition to the vast majority of water, sweat also contains trace amounts of toxins, waste and electrolytes. People are easily influenced by television commercials and think that they should drink sports drinks to replenish electrolytes after sweating, and drinking them for a long time can lead to obesity. Sports drinks contain too much sugar, so it is not recommended to use them to replenish electrolytes lost with sweat.

There are very few electrolytes in sweat. As long as you don't sweat too much, you can actually replenish them with fruits and vegetables in your three meals. Xie Yifang said that eating vegetable soups such as asparagus soup and bamboo shoot soup are enough to balance the electrolytes taken away by sweating. In addition, moderate intake of fruits such as bananas and watermelons is also a way to replenish potassium ions.
