Is vulvar leukoplakia hereditary?

Is vulvar leukoplakia hereditary? In fact, this disease can be inherited and can also be inherited from generation to generation. Therefore, it is also a gynecological disease with relatively high harm. Therefore, knowing more about this disease can help with treatment. Let's take a look at the specific causes of vulvar leukoplakia.

Vulvar leukoplakia (vulvar dystrophy) is one of the difficult gynecological diseases. The pathogenesis mainly comes from three reasons:

1. Inheritance or intergenerational inheritance;

2. Lack or imbalance of endocrine system;

3. Decreased autoimmune function. This disease is mainly divided into four types: hyperplastic type, simple atrophic type, lichen sclerosis type, and mixed type. The condition is stubborn and complicated. In mild cases, there is an increase in leucorrhea and unbearable itching and pain; in severe cases, there is hyperplasia, sclerosis, and atrophy of the vulva, and decreased or no sexual desire. Especially for patients with simple atrophy (no obvious itching or mild itching), if they are not treated in time, they may cause urethritis, cystitis, nephritis, etc. Severe cases may lead to atrophy of the vulva, loss of elasticity, complete disappearance of the labia minora on both sides, clitoral adhesion, urethral atrophy, frequent urination, vaginal stenosis, sexual intercourse pain and fissures, and cancer is prone to occur in the late stage.

Experts point out that "leukoplakia vulvae" is caused by the thickening of the epidermis, the loss of pigment in the basal layer of the epidermis, and the reduction of blood vessels in the superficial dermis, which causes the skin or mucous membrane of the vulva to lose color or turn white. Women who suffer from "leukoplakia vulvae" are very scared and wonder if it is a precancerous lesion. In recent years, a large number of clinical experiments have confirmed that the cancer rate is only about 2%. In 1975, the International Vulvar Disease Research Association decided to cancel the name "leukoplakia vulvae" and call the disease "white lesions of the vulvae" or "chronic vulvar malnutrition."

The above is the introduction about "Is vulvar leukoplakia hereditary?" Women must be prepared for prevention in daily life to avoid this disease.
