In order to promote Taiwan's high-quality agricultural products and arouse the consumer confidence of the people, Executive Yuan Premier Chen Chong attended a press conference to promote high-quality domestic agricultural and livestock products held by the Information Bureau at noon on the 29th. He announced to all Taiwanese people through the media that the Executive Yuan will ensure food safety with the highest standards and activate the integration of cross-departmental forces. Through source production management, pre-market quality assurance and enhanced post-market inspections, food traceability will be strengthened, so that the people can consume domestic agricultural and livestock products with peace of mind.

Regarding the relatively low pork prices recently, President Chen Chong said that farmers have made great progress in breeding technology and production efficiency in recent years, which means that the government's guidance has been successful, but it has also increased the market supply, which has affected prices. The president said that the quality of Taiwan's meat is beyond reproach, and he has instructed the Council of Agriculture to actively assist farmers in initiating production and marketing adjustments, and will then implement total quantity control to maintain the competitiveness of the industry. In addition, he also asked agricultural policy units to intensively expand promotional measures to give Taiwanese people more opportunities to eat high-quality and delicious domestic livestock and poultry products, so that both consumers and producers can benefit.

On the other hand, President Chen Chong led Vice President Jiang Yihua and Secretary-General Lin Yishi. The three giants, together with Deputy Director Lin Zuoyan of the Department of Health and Chairman Chen Baoji of the Council of Agriculture, lined up to promote the fresh domestic agricultural products on the spot to the media. Then, the famous chef Cai Jifang used her hands and mouth to tell how she cooked delicious home-cooked dishes with authentic domestic agricultural and livestock ingredients at hand.

The dean also invited the media reporters present to enjoy Mr. Tsai’s finished products, and praised the domestic agricultural and livestock products. He also called on the people to continue to support Taiwan’s agriculture through their purchases. The government has repeatedly emphasized that it is actively guiding domestic farmers to improve their management efficiency, with good results.

As for the pig farming industry, pork prices have been stable in the past three years, farmers have increased their breeding, and the success rate has increased, resulting in an oversupply in the market. The association has teamed up with pig farming industry groups in various places to organize promotions and start slaughtering and freezing pigs. At the same time, it has strengthened guidance on foreign sales and product diversification to deal with the excess pigs in the market.

In the future, in order to maintain stable production and sales of live pigs, the total production volume of live pigs will be controlled in accordance with the "Animal Husbandry Law". In the future, the association will continue to provide guidance based on farmers’ needs in order to maintain the sustainable operation of domestic agriculture.

Vice Premier Jiang Yihua said that in order to solve food safety-related issues, the Executive Yuan has recently established a "Food Safety Crisis Management Team". He personally convenes every meeting to review all current food safety issues, actively discuss solutions, and integrate cross-departmental resources to comprehensively ensure food safety from the production end to the market end. He also called on all relevant industry players to cooperate with government policies, abide by relevant laws and regulations, and work together to safeguard the food safety of the people.

Council of Agriculture Chairman Chen Baoji said that Taiwan's agricultural products are fresh, high-quality, and delicious, and have a good production, marketing, and inspection system that can protect the health and safety of the people. At the same time, when the people of Taiwan choose to buy any product, "local production and local consumption" is the best.
