Li Qingrong, a nutritionist at the Peking University Health Science Center, said that it doesn't cost a lot to reshape leftover New Year's Eve meals. All you need to do is use your creativity to add some new ingredients, condiments or different cooking methods to the leftovers and you can turn them into a brand new dish. For example, leftover vegetables can be transformed into stir-fried vegetables, rice cakes and radish cakes can be transformed into a warm and healthy hot pot, and the sweet red bean rice cakes can be transformed into an after-meal sweet soup - red bean rice cake soup, and mixed nuts, a New Year snack, can be used to make an appetizer - a five-color salad.

In addition, the common sacrificial animals during the New Year are boiled meat, whole chicken, and fish. After these big fish and meat are offered as sacrifices, mothers-in-law often freeze them in the freezer because they don't know how to cook them.
