Is it expensive to remove an ovarian cyst? Are the symptoms severe?

Ovarian cyst removal costs compare the costs of three different ovarian cyst surgeries based on patient experience:

1. Open surgery: It is expensive, causes larger wounds, slow recovery, and has a high possibility of infection. It requires hospitalization for more than a week, and the surgery requires general anesthesia.

2. Puncture: Puncture is the simplest and cheapest method, which basically costs 6,000 to 7,000 yuan for the operation. You can go home on the same day. The disadvantage is that puncture is to pierce the cyst wall through the vagina without surgery, suck out the cystic fluid in the cyst, and then let the cyst die in a way that it remains in the body. The operation requires semi-anesthesia.

3. Laparoscopy: The cost of the operation is about 13,000 yuan. Generally, three incisions of about one centimeter are made, and some tubes are inserted into the wounds. Then the cyst fluid is sucked out, the cyst wall is separated from the ovary, and the separated cyst wall is broken up in the body and removed in pieces. The operation also requires general anesthesia.

The clinical manifestations of ovarian cysts mainly include the following aspects:

1. Increased abdominal circumference and a mass in the abdomen. This is also the most common clinical phenomenon. The patient feels that his clothes or belts are too tight, and finds that his abdomen is enlarged, or when he presses his abdomen, he finds a mass in the abdomen and feels bloated and uncomfortable.

2. Compression symptoms. Huge ovarian cysts can cause dyspnea and palpitations due to compression of the diaphragm. Ovarian cysts combined with a large amount of ascites can also cause such symptoms. However, some ovarian cyst patients have dyspnea caused by unilateral or bilateral pleural effusion, which is often combined with ascites, forming Meigs syndrome.
