Are pelvic inflammatory disease and cervicitis the same thing?

The classification of gynecological inflammation is very complicated. Pelvic inflammatory disease and cervicitis are both gynecological inflammation. Both diseases are diseases that endanger the health of women's reproductive system. Pelvic inflammatory disease and cervicitis are two different diseases. They occur in different places, have different symptoms, and have different treatment methods.

The onset sites of pelvic inflammation and cervicitis are different. The onset site of pelvic inflammation is the pelvic peritoneum and other appendages of the pelvic cavity, while the onset site of cervicitis is the penis between the vagina and the uterus. Pelvic inflammation involves a wider range of reproductive systems and is particularly harmful to the reproductive system. Sometimes pelvic inflammation can cause some ovarian cysts, which will greatly affect women's reproductive function.

The symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease and cervicitis are different. Pelvic inflammatory disease and cervicitis have the difference of acute attack and chronic attack. The acute attack of pelvic inflammatory disease is particularly serious, with pain in the lower abdomen, fever, headache and chills. When chronic pelvic inflammatory disease occurs, basically some symptoms of neurasthenia such as insomnia and poor mental state will appear. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease can also cause excessive menstruation or menstrual disorders in women. Cervicitis can also cause lower abdominal pain during acute attacks, and there will be abnormal increase in leucorrhea. The damage of cervicitis to the body is not as serious as pelvic inflammatory disease. During chronic attacks, there will be symptoms of abdominal distension and excessive leucorrhea, but it will not cause high fever and poor mental state.

There are different treatments for pelvic inflammation and cervicitis. The treatment of pelvic inflammation is more complicated, and sometimes even requires surgery in severe cases. The treatment of cervicitis can basically be treated with oral medications, and sometimes some embolic agents are used, which are also very good for the treatment of cervicitis.
