Are there any side effects of delayed menstruation injections?

The practice of delaying menstruation with injections does have potential side effects. This practice usually interferes with a woman's normal menstrual cycle by injecting hormonal drugs to delay menstruation. Although this method may be necessary in some special cases, it is not without risks.

Using hormone drugs to delay menstruation may cause a series of adverse reactions in the body. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headaches, and even obesity and water and sodium retention. More seriously, these drugs may also interfere with ovarian function. Long-term use may lead to ovarian failure, which in turn affects fertility.

Disruption of the menstrual cycle is another potential side effect. Through drug intervention, women's endocrine system may become unbalanced, leading to irregular menstrual cycles, prolonged or shortened menstruation, which will undoubtedly disrupt women's normal physiological rhythm.

Injectable drugs may also increase the risk of endometriosis, a disease that can cause lower abdominal pain, menstrual abnormalities, and even infertility, significantly affecting a woman's quality of life.

It should be emphasized that any drug has certain side effects, especially when used without a doctor's guidance, the risk is greater. Unless necessary, it is not recommended for women to delay menstruation through injections.

In daily life, women should maintain a regular schedule, develop good living habits, avoid mood swings, and exercise appropriately to maintain physical health and normal menstrual cycles. If menstruation needs to be postponed under special circumstances, it should also be done under the guidance of a doctor to ensure safety and effectiveness.
