Vulvar itching and beriberi

Vulvar pruritus and beriberi may refer to vulvar pruritus with concurrent tinea pedis. Vulvar pruritus is considered to be related to vulvitis, folliculitis and other causes, while tinea pedis is usually caused by fungal infection and can be treated with topical and oral medications.

1. Vulvitis:

Vulvitis is an inflammatory reaction caused by pathogen infection or various adverse stimuli. If the patient has tinea pedis, touching the vulva can easily cause fungal infection, induce vulvitis, and cause the patient to experience symptoms such as vulvar itching, swelling, pain, and burning. Drugs such as clotrimazole cream and nitrofurantoin vaginal ointment can be used for treatment as recommended by the doctor.

2. Folliculitis:

If the vulvar skin is slightly damaged, it is easy to cause an inflammatory reaction after the infection of bacteria and invade the hair follicles, resulting in red papules centered on the hair follicles, accompanied by itching and tingling. You can apply erythromycin ointment, fusidic acid ointment, mupirocin ointment and other drugs topically as recommended by the doctor.

3. Tinea pedis:

Tinea pedis is usually a skin disease caused by dermatophyte infection such as Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton. Patients may experience itching, small blisters, exudation, dryness, scabs, dandruff, etc. You can apply salicylic acid ointment, amorolfine hydrochloride cream, terbinafine hydrochloride cream and other drugs topically as recommended by the doctor to improve the condition. If the itching is too strong, you can also take oral loratad tablets, cetirizine hydrochloride tablets and other drugs as recommended by the doctor to relieve the condition.

In addition to the above common causes, vulvar itching may also be caused by vulvovaginal candidiasis. If the patient's symptoms continue to improve, he or she should go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.
