What's wrong with a much lighter menstrual flow and a darker color?

My menstrual flow is much less than usual and the color is very dark. What's wrong?

The menstrual volume is much less than usual and the color is very dark, which falls into the category of irregular menstruation and may be related to hormonal changes, cervicitis, endometritis and other reasons.

1. Hormone changes:

If the patient's living environment changes or mental stress is too great in daily life, it may affect the changes in estrogen and progesterone levels in the body, leading to symptoms such as reduced menstrual volume, changes in menstrual blood color, and unstable menstruation. Patients can relax appropriately, communicate more with others, reduce psychological pressure, and maintain stable hormone levels.

2. Cervicitis:

Cervicitis usually refers to infection with pathogenic bacteria after the patient's immunity is reduced, leading to inflammatory lesions of the cervix, vagina and cervical mucosa. Patients may experience symptoms such as increased leucorrhea, abnormal vaginal bleeding, waist and abdominal pain, irregular menstruation, etc. Patients can take oral cephalosporin capsules, levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules, azithromycin capsules and other drugs according to the doctor's advice.

3. Endometritis:

Endometritis is usually caused by an inflammatory response caused by pathogens infecting the endometrium. Clinical manifestations include lower abdominal pain, abnormal vaginal discharge, abnormal menstruation, and other symptoms. In severe cases, it may also be accompanied by fever. Patients can take drugs such as metronidazole tablets, tinidazole tablets, and penicillin V potassium tablets according to the doctor's advice.

In addition to the relatively common causes mentioned above, it may also be related to vulvovaginal candidiasis, endometriosis, cervical polyps, uterine fibroids, etc. If the patient has other discomfort symptoms, he should go to the hospital for treatment in time.
