Is pelvic effusion an inflammation?

Simply draining the effusion is a wrong treatment choice for many patients with pelvic effusion. Simply draining the effusion will not only fail to cure the pelvic effusion, but will also increase the amount of effusion. So, is pelvic effusion caused by inflammation?

Pelvic effusion refers to the presence of inflammatory exudate in the pelvic cavity. It can occur after the endometrium becomes inflamed. It is a slightly viscous fluid that exudes from the swollen cells of the endometrial tissue and is gradually wrapped by the surrounding tissue to form a cystic mass.

Pelvic effusion often occurs in the lower part of the pelvis, such as the uterine rectal pouch. Pelvic effusion is caused by inflammation, that is, exudation from chronic pelvic inflammation. A few cases are caused by ruptured ectopic pregnancy, corpus luteum rupture, pelvic abscess, chocolate cyst, and ovarian cancer. The pathogens that cause pelvic inflammatory disease are Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, anaerobic bacteria, and sexually transmitted pathogens such as herpes virus, Chlamydia trachomatis, and mycoplasma.

From the above introduction, we can know that the appearance of pelvic effusion represents the occurrence of pelvic inflammation. Patients need to actively treat it. The treatment methods for pelvic effusion are:

First, supportive therapy is to increase nutrition and improve the body's immunity. The most important way to increase the body's immunity is to exercise, which can improve the body's immunity on the one hand and make the body and mind happy on the other.

Second, drug treatment is the simplest treatment method and is also a common method in the early stage. When using anti-inflammatory drugs, intramuscular injection of drugs can also be used at the same time to facilitate the absorption of adhesions and inflammation. In addition, Chinese medicine treatment can also be used. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is mostly damp-heat type, and the treatment principle is to clear heat and remove dampness.
