What is ovarian cyst torsion in early pregnancy and what are the symptoms

What is early pregnancy ovarian cyst torsion? What are the symptoms?

1. If severe pain suddenly occurs on one side of the lower abdomen during pregnancy, accompanied by nausea and vomiting, you should consider whether you have an ovarian cyst. Unless there are complications, the clinical symptoms of ovarian cysts during pregnancy are generally not obvious. Generally speaking, it is only diagnosed when severe lower abdominal pain occurs after torsion and rupture. Torsion can only be acutely operated. Emphasize that reproductive tract examinations must be performed in early pregnancy. If the ovarian cyst is large and there are surgical indications, surgery can be performed after 12 weeks of pregnancy to avoid miscarriage.

2. The pedicle of the ovarian cyst includes the fallopian tube, ovarian mesentery and ovarian ligament. When the pedicle twists in one direction, abdominal pain will occur. Ovarian cyst pedicle torsion refers to the twisting, ischemia or even necrosis and rupture of the blood vessels supplying the ovarian cyst, leading to severe abdominal pain.

3. The ovary is a common site of tumors. About 10% of patients with ovarian tumors will have pedicle torsion. These tumors are mostly benign, with long pedicles, tumor mucin, no adhesion to surrounding structures, and active mucin, so they are easy to torsion. In particular, cystic teratoma, mucin and serous cystadenoma are most likely to occur. Because this type of tumor has a long pedicle and the center of gravity is biased to one side, the tumor is easily affected by intestinal peristalsis or changes in posture.

4. Once the torsion occurs, there will be sudden severe pain in the lower abdomen, accompanied by vomiting when tense. If the torsion is slow and not tense, the pain will be mild. There will be obvious tenderness in the abdomen and varying degrees of urgency in the abdominal muscles; the anus will be checked for mucus and swollen mucous appendages.
