Why does pelvic inflammatory disease cause diarrhea?

We know that most diarrhea is related to gastrointestinal diseases, but some diarrhea is caused by diseases of other organs affecting the gastrointestinal tract. For example, some women have diarrhea before menstruation, during menstruation, and half a month after menstruation. At this time, taking antidiarrheal drugs is often ineffective. Then we need to check whether it is caused by other diseases outside the gastrointestinal tract.

The reason why pelvic inflammatory disease may cause diarrhea is that the uterus is located in front of the rectum. When suffering from pelvic inflammatory disease, the uterus is located in the back and the pelvic congestion is heavier before the menstrual period. The uterus becomes congested and softens, and it will be closer to the rectum, compressing the sacral nerves to produce a sense of falling. The uterus squeezes the rectum, stimulating the rectal mucosa to contract and cause defecation. If a pregnant woman suffers from pelvic inflammatory disease, the pelvic and uterine congestion is more obvious, and the inflammation spreads to the rectum, which will stimulate the rectum and cause diarrhea.

This type of diarrhea is difficult to diagnose as pelvic inflammatory disease. We only know that it is recurrent chronic diarrhea. If the cause of diarrhea is unknown, you should go to the gynecology department for examination. If you are diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease, you should actively treat it. Pay attention to correcting the posterior position of the uterus by repositioning, knee-chest position, etc. The patient can also alleviate the symptoms by lying prone on the right side. Use a combination of Chinese and Western medicines and cooperate with active treatment. After the pelvic inflammatory disease is cured, the diarrhea will naturally improve.

If a female friend has unexplained diarrhea, she should consider that she may have pelvic inflammatory disease and undergo a gynecological examination to confirm the diagnosis. Then take active treatment measures. As long as the cause is found, pelvic inflammatory disease is not difficult to treat.
